ENGLAND VS WINDIES : THE ANALYSIS

Cricket is back after three months hiatus and it begins with battle of equals. The First Test between England and West Indies will be landmark occasion given. It is set to mark the return of international cricket from corona virus Lockdown. It will be very interesting to see how the absence of spectators affect the viewing experience.

ENGLAND :
Joe Root will be absent for the 1st test as the England Captain opted to be at the birth of his second child. Ben Stokes will Captain the side at South Hampton. So the sides are equipped with Lethal Pace bowling attack with extraordinary skills and experience of Jimmy Anderson and Stuart Broad to genuine pace bowlers and as Mark Wood, Jofra Archer and Ollie Stone- all are 90 mph plus merchants.

WINDIES:
West Indies quickies since 2018 have taken 177 wickets in 15 matches with a staggering average of 21.78, second only to India  with Kemar Roach leading the back is a extremely skillful bowler. He took 5 for 17 in Bridgetown last year as England were bowled out for 77. The tall, accurate and no.1 ranked all rounder Jason Holder is another major concern for the Englishmen. Shanon Gabriel , Alzaari Joseph and the new comer Chemar Holder are other great options available for Holder to choose from.

COMMON ISSUES :
Both sides have their issues at the top Order. The opening  pair has been Achilles heel for windies for some time now Shai Hope who created history by scoring twin century at Leeds in 2017 has failed to score another after that.
The Two sides have plenty in common- a Fragile Top Order, a middle order boosted by capable all rounders and two world class pace attacks.

THE PANDEMIC AND CRICKET :
With Covid 19 pandemic bitting hand, citizens of all countries are being asked to display attributes such as patience and detemination. These are qualities essential to play test Cricket at higher Level. These are indeed strange and difficult times but the main priority is to stay healthy and enjoy cricket from wednesday. Imagine a rainy evening watching good contest between bat and ball  sitting on a comfy sofa and sipping hot tea with delicious samosas (home made).
